From a young age, I learned what it meant to hold someone’s story with care. Growing up, my family used to volunteer throughout the year. One Christmas Eve, as we delivered gifts to a family, I spotted a classmate my age coming down the stairs. I immediately recognized her and I knew she recognized me.

At thirteen, that moment held so much more than awkwardness. It held vulnerability. All I could offer was a genuine smile that said, without words: You can trust me. Your story is safe. I never spoke a word about that encounter to anyone.

That experience—simple and brief—was the first time I understood the weight of trust. And it has guided me ever since.

As a coach, my clients trust me with the parts of their leadership and their lives that they don’t often share with anyone else—the doubts, the pressure, the moments of truth, the hopes they’ve buried under responsibility. They come to me because they know I will listen deeply, speak honestly, and hold their confidence with the same care I held for that classmate all those years ago.
